OK: what i mean by
serious and realistic: If you make a joke in front of a king, you may get thrown in the dungeon, if it rains its good for fishing and bad for sailing, and pigs can't fly.
serious but not realistic: the characters have serious tone, but things events can be out of norm, flying pigs, enemies may be anachronistic (cavemen and robots together, nightmares materialize), laws of physics are ignored for the sake of story. These things are just taken as acceptable features of the world, and it doesn't break stop the story to go "huh?".
maximum redonkulousity: you may meet chuck norris's left leg (aka lightning), the plot one night may coincide exactly with the lyrics of a song, the demonic squirrels will try to gather your nuts if you are a male, you can only kill the tension by cutting it with a blade(no hammers), ect.
