I'll most likely be picking up Mario kart over the break. Does anyone else have it or going to get it? Will wifi connect with Lehigh's wireless signal? If you want to play after the break, leave a message, there should be good single cart multiplayer.

From the press releases I have read, I'm under the impression that this only works at certain Nintendo designated hot spots where you could connect to their servers. Just having a wireless internet connection won't do it...

It works at any hotspot. It worked great at my house. Here to connect to the "lu" wireless I need a WEP key that I don't have and the "lehigh" signal there is an error. If anyone somehow has the WEP key and wants to give it to me it would be much appreciated.

The DS works anyplace there's an 802.11 hotspot, and if it's WEP encrypted you just need to input the key to get online. You could always wander the south side until you find a hotspot since virtually nobody around here encrypts their wireless network However, Lehigh doesn't use just a WEP key like you'd use on the wireless network in your house since they have to be sure that anyone trying to access it has a Lehigh user ID. But if you've got your own wireless router sitting around, nothing stops you from running an ethernet cable from your LAN jack into the router and setting up your own wireless network. Another option is to buy the dongle that Nintendo sells for about $30 I believe. It plugs into a USB port on your computer and transmits a wireless signal for your DS. Read about it here: www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3145484There's nothing like a game of Mario Kart online to relax before going to bed ;D

Also if you work in Packard Lab and make friendly with a professor they can usually give you the WEP key to their own router. I know I have keys to a couple routers there (and no I won't give them out) and it's something worth looking into.
I use them to browse the internet on my PSP which now has RSS and streaming video/audio capabilities!

well i don't work in packard lab. I think i'll wander around campus this weekend and see if anything works. I'll probably just get the dongle for Christmas.
